Tamara Qaddoumi's journey has taken many turns. Born in Kuwait with Palestinian, Lebanese, and Scottish roots, the artist initially studied theater and acting before turning to music and songwriting.
With her EPs "Dust Bathing" (2018), "Soft Glitch" (2021), and "Sorry Signal" (2024), Tamara Qaddoumi already demonstrated her talent for creating deep, atmospheric music. Now, with "The Murmur", she takes a bold step into an even more complex and multi-layered sonic world.
In her first full-length album, Qaddoumi emerges as an artist who has come into her own, embracing the challenge of redefining the boundaries of her musical comfort zone—a space that continues to evolve and grow. As a songwriter who has explored profound existential themes such as grief and death, Qaddoumi has become a skilled traveler through the dark corridors of human existence, while also capturing the beauty that lies beneath and the delicate hope that it may indeed be within reach.
"The Murmur" was created in collaboration with Antonio Hajj—Tamara Qaddoumi’s musical compass and the architect of her distinctive sound—an alchemy of lush electronic soundscapes, a ghostly touch of trip-hop and dream pop, and Qaddoumi’s unmistakably mesmerizing voice. "The Murmur" oscillates between light and shadow, chaos and clarity—a search for grounding in a world that is in constant motion.
Tamara Qaddoumi’s new album will be released on April 25, 2025, and will be available on all major streaming platforms as well as on vinyl.
